About Me

I have been a member of the Grand Rapids Lions Club for over 32 years; sponsored into the club by Lion Jim Starr during my first year of living in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Graduating from Augustana College in 1975, and Illinois College of Optometry in 1979, I went into private practice in Grand Rapids, Michigan, that same year.

Married to Lion Cheryl Anderson for 33 years, we are the parents of Lion Kristen (Lion Aaron), Lion Erik (Lion Stephanie), and Lion Carla (Lion Rick). Plus, our first grandchild, Carter, was born in March 2011!!

My personal interests include running, triathlons, snow skiing, scuba diving, taking pictures, and traveling. I especially love spending time with my family.
